moving and packing

well our house has been a little hectic for the last couple days. the packing people came on thursday to pack our whole house. i couldn't believe how fast they worked. i know if i was packing the whole house with only eric to help, it would take us at least four days... it took these two women 5 hours to have our entire house packed up in boxes ready to ship. the movers came the next morning to move all the boxes, our furniture and everything else onto the truck. our stuff will actually beat us to GA, it will be there monday and we are leaving monday for GA. :) right now we are living in an empty house, sleeping on VERY uncomfortable air mattresses. it will all be over soon, right??? come on monday!

empty dining room/kitchen.... and clean carpet to boot!

"look at the hat i found"

mason, "cheerful" about moving

tons of packing boxes

the middle of chaos

'they woke me up too early and i'm sleeping here darn it!'

sooooooo bored while they pack

gonna take pictures of you taking pictures of me taking pictures.....

don't let them fool you, they were SO bored they even went for a walk!

morning the movers came for the first time to pack (only a little coffee at that time)
this is what happens when you have not one other thing to do :P

take a second to relax

with all the fuss of moving, quitting my job, eric outprocessing, seven people to get ready, packing, cleaning and general stress of "what on earth is next on the checklist", it is rather nice to just sit back once in a while and relax, or laugh. eric and i were folding laundry to set aside for our roadtrip, and hopkins decided to "help" us.....

Pride in the Army

I went with Eric to out process this morning on post. I had to laugh when I passed this wall, which I'm assuming is supposed to represent all the things that the hospital had to have pride in.... UM, yeah.

Is it really only 13 days????

In thirteen days we will be on the road headed to Georgia. I am at a loss about how much still needs to be done in our house and everything, but most of it is stuff that I have to wait till the appointments. I have no idea what I want to keep, throw away, and give away. Not much on the give away, I can tell you that, no one will want these castoffs. I have found clothes that I wore in high school... was that really a decade ago that I got my M*A*S*H shirt for 75 cents???? Well either way, it is a perfect excuse to get rid of old stuffs, and to finally give up on fitting into my skinny jeans. :)

The dreaded storage closet.... sigh... so much to throw away.

Another messy shelf that I need to sort through.

Finally!!!!!

This past year and this winter have been the driest that Kansas has seen in a while. Last year at this time we had already had many HUGE snows with lots of drifts all along the road. Just today we finally got our first major snow of the year. Our house is cozy and warm, and outside the snow is just falling down. It is so beautiful. I love how snow just wipes the world clean.

My car this morning before I went to work, Eric had already cleaned it off once.
